Acrophobia:

acrophobia: People who suffer from this phobia are scared of heights, and they get very nervous if they have to go up high. especially when one is not particularly tall. It belongs to a category of specific phobias, called space and movement disturbances, that share similar etiology and options for treatment.

Those who suffer from acrophobia may experience a panic attack in a high place and feel too agitated to get off safely. Between 2 and 5 percent of the general population suffer from acrophobia, with twice as many women affected as men.

Agoraphobia:

agoraphobia: This phobia can have a severe effect on sufferers' lives. Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder that causes people to avoid places and situations that might cause them to feel:
  • trapped
  • helpless
  • panicked
  • embarrassed
  • scared
 These people are frightened of being in open and public spaces, like shops and busy streets. They often feel panic when they go out and only feel safe at home.

People with agoraphobia often have symptoms of a panic attack, such as a rapid heartbeat and nausea, when they find themselves in a stressful situation. They may also experience these symptoms before they even enter the situation they dread. The condition can be so severe that people avoid doing daily activities, and stay inside their homes most of the day.
0.8 percent of American adults have agoraphobia. About 40 percent of cases are considered severe. When the condition is more advanced, agoraphobia can be very disabling. 

Treatment can help you manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life. Depending on the severity of your condition, treatment may consist of therapy, medications, and lifestyle remedies.

Glossophobia:

Glossophobia isn’t a dangerous disease or chronic condition. It’s the medical term for the fear of public speaking. And it affects as many as four out of ten Americans.

For those affected, speaking in front of a group can trigger feelings of discomfort and anxiety. With this can come uncontrollable trembling, sweating, and a racing heartbeat. You may also have an overwhelming urge to run out of the room or away from the situation that is causing you stress.

Is a social phobia, or social anxiety disorder that cause strong fears that are out of proportion to what you’re experiencing or thinking about.

Claustrophobia:

claustrophobia: People with this phobia are afraid of being in closed spaces like lifts, or travelling on the underground. This phobia can make life very difficult for people who live and work in cities. Claustrophobia is a situational phobia triggered by an irrational and intense fear of tight or crowded spaces. It can be triggered by things like being locked in a windowless room, being stuck in a crowded elevator, or driving on a congested highway, etc.

Is one of the most common phobias. If you experience claustrophobia, you may feel like you’re having a panic attack, although claustrophobia isn’t a panic disorder. For some people, claustrophobia may disappear on its own. Others may need therapy to manage and cope with their symptoms.

arachnophobia: People with this phobia are terrified of spiders. While it’s not uncommon for people to dislike arachnids or insects, phobias of spiders can have a far more significant impact on your life. Arachnophobia can prevent you from participating in certain events or situations because your mind tells says you’re in danger from spiders.

Like other types of phobias, arachnophobia can be debilitating and interfere with your life. But it doesn’t have to. Once you’ve identified spider phobia, it’s possible to work with it so your fears don’t have to interfere with your everyday life.
